With the holiday season upon us, our family at Elder Group Tahoe Real Estate Office in Truckee always looks forward to sharing some downtime with our family, friends, and clients from near and far.

It’s also the time of year when giving thanks is at the forefront of our minds, particularly in our beautiful, mountain community. This coming month, the Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation, which makes a significant impact on our non-profit community and brings BIG benefits to our full and part-time residents, host “Give Back Tahoe.” You can check out more information below and perhaps consider donating to this significant fundraising drive that positively impacts everyone in our region.

Give Back Tahoe Announces its “Giving Season”

At the end of every year, the Give Back Tahoe campaign is in full swing throughout the Truckee/Tahoe region.  In fact, more than one-third of all their contributions are collected during this holiday season.

Last year they raised $365,064 to support the arts, education, fitness and wellness programs, land preservation efforts, and much more.  Collectively, these funds continue to contribute to local non-profit organizations that offer an impressive list of services to keep our mountain communities active, environmentally healthy, and vibrant year-round.

As avid supporters of the Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation, who orchestrates this annual drive that kicks off on December 3, 2019, we encourage you to learn more about the many opportunities to get involved as a volunteer or much appreciated donor.

What is so unique about this program is that you can choose from a variety of non-profit organizations that you’d like to support.  From the Humane Society, Arts for the Schools, Achieve Tahoe, Girls on the Run, Headwaters Science Group, Mountain Preservation Society, League to Save Lake Tahoe, Tahoe Truckee Land Trust, and many more, there is an opportunity to make a difference in your community.

Where to Dine this Thanksgiving in Truckee/Tahoe

THANKSGIVING DAY ~ THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 28

Gather your friends and family for an annual Thanksgiving dinner from 2:00 – 6:30 p.m.  Choose from traditional turkey or other delicious offerings throughout the afternoon. Prices vary according to your selection and range from$52.95 – $62.95. Children under 12 are $25. Reservations are highly recommended.

For an All-American Thanksgiving Dinner, head on over to Lake Tahoe’s West Shore to enjoy all your favorites complete with turkey, traditional sides, desserts, and vegetarian options. To sweeten the deal, you get to take home the leftovers!
