Activities include a certified organic Farmers’ Market, live music, arts and crafts vendors, beer garden, sidewalk sales, outdoor dining, and family/children’s activities.
Farmers Markets
Get your favorite seasonal fruits and veggies at the Tahoe and Truckee Farmers Markets. Farmers markets around the Lake Tahoe and Truckee area are now open! Along with all the fruit, veggies, and flowers the markets are also filled with great local art, photography, and locally made products.
What a great way to help boost the local economy by buying local, it also helps to reduce our carbon footprint; reduces transportation and energy costs & eliminates wasteful packaging.

The 2013 season commences with an exhilarating production that features gorgeous costumes, stunning sets and one of the most talented professional acting companies in the West! Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream is sure to enchant the entire family. An exhilarating night of midsummer madness, this magical comedy brims with mistaken identity, mismatched lovers and mischief-making fairies. Boldly inspired by the marvelously mod influences of a rock ‘n’ roll infused 1960s London, the production of Shakespeare’s comic masterpiece ensnares two pairs of lovers and a rustic troupe of would-be actors in a magical-mystery tour de force. A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a joyful celebration of love lost, transformed and restored that casts a powerfully pleasing spell on audiences of all ages.
3rd Annual Truckee Chili Cookoff
The Truckee Sunrise Rotary Club will hold the 3rd Annual Truckee Chili Cookoff at 11 AM on Sunday, June 26 at the Truckee Regional Park. This community fundraiser will provide a day of inexpensive family fun with chili tasting, non-stop entertainment, food and beverages and a host of activities for adults and children alike. Once again KOH radio personality Monica Jaye will host the event, bringing her unique brand of humor and good-natured sarcasm to the fun-filled event. Building on last year’s successful Cookoff, there will be more chili, more food, more quality microbrews, more entertainment and more fun. The area’s best chili cooks will compete for top honors in these categories: Restaurants, Non-profits and Individuals plus Best Overall. In addition, a People’s Choice award will recognize the chili garnering the most votes from attendees and there will be an award for best cooking team theme. A panel of area dignitaries will judge the chili and make the awards. All proceeds benefit Truckee-North Tahoe programs addressing the needs of youth, economically disadvantaged and elderly.
