Just when you thought you had enough fun in the sun during our 4th of July holiday, there continues to be more events set for you to enjoy throughout our summer months, and then some.
One of the biggest events that is on the heels of the recent holiday is the annual Truckee Air Show and Family Festival on July 13th at the Truckee Tahoe Airport. This year’s theme is “Building on the Future” and event organizers promise a full day of fun for all.

Truckee Tahoe Airport
Know as “one of the region’s most family-friendly events,” the Truckee Tahoe Air Show and Family Festival is one to put on your calendar now and make plans to attend this full day of fun and education for all.
The schedule is jam-packed with activity all day long that includes a ‘world-class airshow,” astounding aerobatic performers, rides in military aircraft (free for kids on the 14th of July), musical puppet show, food and beverage, and endless opportunities to be up close and personal to some of the finest aircraft and pilots in the business.
And here’s the best news ~ since 2012, this event has raised over $250,000 which is donated to local youth programs. This would not happen without the generous support from the Truckee Tahoe Airport District, volunteers from the EEA Chapter 1073, the KidZone Museum, and the Truckee Optimist Club.

The Village at Squaw Valley
Here’s another super summer event that is a fundraiser that overflows with some of the region’s finest artistry, wines, and entertainment. It’s a wonderful weekend for all to enjoy in the Village at Squaw Valley.
The organizers pull out all stops to ensure this is a first-class festival every year. And every summer, they raise funds to support Achieve Tahoe whose mission is to “provide affordable and inclusive physical and recreational activities that build health and confidence.”
On their website at Squawalpine.com, you can see a full list of the wineries that have been invited to date in addition to a very impressive list of artists who have been hand-selected for their creativity and local presence.
In addition, there’s a complete schedule of events for the Art, Wine and Music Festival at Squaw Valley, that will show you what bands will be performing throughout the weekend.
