Welcome to the first morning of daylight saving time! The month of March in Truckee-Tahoe brings plenty of events happening while the sun shines, the weather warms up and snow conditions bring “spring skiing”! It’s one of our favorite times of year with a breath of (warmer) fresh air and always some unexpected snow to keep the slopes white. An added bonus – while the ski resorts are still in their prime, afternoons are filled with après ski events and there tends to be fewer skiers and boarders on the mountains!
We’re highlighting some great ski resort entertainment that will have you up and dancin’ and sharing the best pubs local pubs to celebrate St. Patty’s Day! Check out our new Elder Group listing – Lahontan Drive – a beautiful, custom construction retreat built in 2018 and located in the private golf community of Lahontan. It’s gorgeous!

APRES SKI, MUSIC and ENTERTAINMENT
Northstar – One of my favorite après ski spots is, of course, Northstar! Stop by, grab a drink from the Cabana Bar, cozy up around a fire pit, or break out the ice skates and enjoy live music from 2pm to 5pm in The Village on Saturdays through the end of March.
Palisades at Tahoe – Don’t miss out on the daily offering at the iconic Tram Car Bar mr with the Catch the 3:00 Tram special! The first 100 guests who get to the Tram Car Bar at 3:00 will receive a complimentary sample-size hot cocoa spiked with Rumplemintz and Baileys, with Bailey’s infused whipped cream on top – a true après ski beverage! Each guest who attends will be entered into a drawing for a free branded 10oz mug. Cheers to a great day on the slopes.
Sugar Bowl – Enjoy Rockin’ the Bowl Music Series every Saturday and Sunday from 1 pm to 4 pm on the Village and Judah decks thru March 26th! Enjoy fantastic and vibrant DJ music, take off those ski boots and put on your dancin’ shoes! Bring your sun guard, grab a cool beverage and enjoy the “Bowl”! For those arriving for the music, it’s a fun experience to take the gondola into the Village and experience the gorgeous views and historic resort vibe!
Enjoy a Pint of Premium Beer – St. Patty’s Day is Here!
Beer aficionados love coming to Truckee to taste the unique, creative and gourmet flavors our Beer Master’s create! St. Patrick’s Day is a great time to take a few hours and sample our favorite Old Town spots plus a new Donner Lake venue – The Pub – and toast St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland! Remember to wear a sprig of green on Thursday, March 17th! Cheers!
Alibi Ale Works – Alibi brings a beer garden with a sunny patio, lively entertainment, good food and a wide selection of house-brewed beers made with Lake Tahoe water. And, they have a great cider too for those that prefer non-alcoholic beverages! A perfect afternoon stop!
Old Town Tap – Great food, swanky venue, craft beer and creative cocktails makes this a fun venue to settle into dinner and enjoy the lively atmosphere.
The Pub at Donner Lake – Upscale yet comfortable and building a great reputation for premium beer, The Pub is serving traditional fare for St. Patty’s Day, like corned beef and Guinness Irish stew, this is a fun spot and a newer establishment that’s sure to please!
