TOP SPOTS TO APRÈS-SKI IN TRUCKEE-TAHOE
From cozy cabins to crazy-fun crowds, we are sure you will find the perfect fit for your celebration ahead. If you have other favorite spots that you think we should add to this list, we’d love to see it posted on our Elder Group Tahoe Real Estate Facebook Page so we can share with our fans across the USA.
Alibi Ale Works “Truckee Public House”
One of the most popular spots to stop in for a brew, night of blues, and a bountiful menu for dinner too is Alibi Ale’s “Truckee Public House.” Much like their dedication to their first brew house in Incline Village, NV, the crew at this location on Bridge Street promise super service and a wide-selection of specialty brews (and then some!) For those seeking other libations, there’s cider, wine, nitro coffee, kombucha and other non-alcoholic options. Got a growler to fill or one to take to the condo or home? Bring it on.
But wait, there’s more. If you’re seeking a full night on the town, click into Alibi Ale Works Truckee Public House Facebook page to see a full line-up of food, fun, and local and touring talent.

A true piece of Truckee history trickles throughout this classic bar and grille that has been entertaining locals and visitors alike to its location in historic downtown Truckee, CA for centuries.
Notes from the website just start to tell the tales of time gone by … “Prior to 1891, early photos show a stove and tin-ware shop at this location where the Bar of America stands today.”
Enjoy the historic setting while savoring some Cowboy Chili, Riskey Whiskey Rib Eye, or a Bison Burger off their “Sidewalk Specials” menu- and lots of après entertainment, too.
River Ranch Lodge and Restaurant

Dating back over 100 years, the River Ranch Lodge is nestled beside the historical Truckee River. Initially completed in 1888, River Ranch grew into a fashionable watering hotspot and it remains so today. It’s the epitome of a classic spot for après-ski. Cozy on up by the fire and enjoy happy hour specials from 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. or stay a bit later for some of their delicious homemade soups and bisques and other winter fare.
Tahoe City’s original sports bar is very much alive and well – especially as the sun goes down. From their big screen TV’s to their endless list of big events, Pete N Peter’s offers an indoor playground for skiers and non-skiers alike. A game is always on, as is their talent to serve fast food at a good value with great times ahead.
Located in the Pyramid building in the middle of the Squaw Valley, the Cornice Cantina is the hub for hungry skiers during the day and a true local’s hang-out well into the night with DJ’s keeping the dance floor hot until 2 a.m.

Honoring “legends of the past, present, and future,” Rocker is where you will highly-likely be sipping a brew or blend while rubbing elbows with some of the local celebrities who frequent this hot spot at Squaw. From their special local deals for Ikon Pass Holders to the locally-sourced food, everything the folks offer comes from their heart and soul to provide only the finest goods and service for locals and visitors alike.

Indoors or out, you will find a fine selection of sumptuous spots to call it a day at Resort at Squaw Creek. There are six restaurants from which to choose yet we always prefer taking our après outside to curl up by the fire while we watch the kids ice skate into the night.
If you’re a sports fan who needs to catch-up after a day on the slopes, head to Sandy’s Pub – a sports bar that sports local brews, big fat burgers, and TV’s, too!

Touting its village environment as “The Path to an Inspired Après,” the folks at Northstar California host ‘the sport of après’ perhaps better than most. In fact, they have a whole section on their website that outlines the options that will please those who need to call it a day with a hot toddy in hand or to keep the memories moving along with S’mores by the fire – with ice rink views included.
For a complete tour of their Après Alley, Après Overlook, Après Beach, and Après Cabana, visit their Après page to see one of the finest après selections quite possibly in the entire USA!
Any place one the planet that was creative enough to develop ”Marshmallowology” has our vote as a top spot to après-ski! Located mid-mountain at Northstar California, The Ritz-Carlton Lake Tahoe promises lively après ski experience at their champagne bar at the fire pit where there are many, many marshmallows and memorable times ahead.
This year-round destination serves as the site as one of the most scenic spots for après on the Lake! Whether you choose to stay in their classic lakeside lodge or lounge away in the Lakeside Dining Room or Mountain Grill while you soak in the Sierra views, everything about Sunnyside is superior in every way.

There are lots of reasons why Gar Woods is the recipient of TripAdvisor’s “Hall of Fame” for five years – and among the top must be their view of Lake Tahoe … and famous specialty drinks. No matter what the season, there’s always something fun on the schedule and fresh and fabulous food, with a view, as well. Be sure to review their website at Garwoods.com for seasonal specials and live music line-up.
Boasting an extensive tequila menu with a bill of fare that specializes in the flavors of the American Southwest and beyond, Caliente in Kings Beach, CA is a festive spot for après ski or any time of the year. To review their menus, and many weekly promotions, visit their website at CalienteTahoe.com.
