No matter where you choose to ski, ride or head out to explore Truckee/Tahoe’s miles of cross-country trails, we encourage you to review these tips for a stress-free getaway.
Book Ahead: Plan your Palisades Tahoe adventure early and save! With an Ikon Pass, you can ski and ride for as little as $88 per month, offering unlimited access at 14 destinations and up to 5 days at 39 others. Other resorts have similar options so visit the Truckee and Lake Tahoe ski resort websites for all the details.
Book Early: Now is the time to review your calendars and mark off those dates for your winter vacation to come. It is not uncommon to get the best rates of the season before the holiday crunch. For a quieter vibe, mid-week is your best bet. Springtime in the Sierra tends to slow down – just when some of the sunniest days and super ski conditions continue to prevail. One more tip, many vacation rental agencies have promotions similar to “buy six nights, get the seventh night free.”
Reserved parking: Many of the larger resorts are now offering reserved parking options. Palisades Tahoe’s Reserve N Ski program accepts weekend and holiday reservations. Northstar California has a similar system.
Stay for Apres-Ski: And for our final tip, here’s one of the best. Don’t rush home. Take time to take in all the options to kick back, enjoy some s’mores by the fire along with a hot toddy to toast to a great day on the slopes!
