There’s no question that living in and around “America’s Favorite Playground” has some significant advantages year-round, and summer certainly has some of the best on the planet. When time allows, the team at Elder Group Tahoe Real Estate finds time to get out on the Lake and explore the shores over its crystal clear waters … and treat ourselves to some of the best dining options in the West!
When you’re ready to do the same, we suggest you hop on a boat and head to these favorite lakeside restaurants at Lake Tahoe. (Need a boat? Click here for some local insight on boat rentals and private charters on Lake Tahoe.)
Elder Group’s Favorite Lakeside Restaurants
By lake (or by land) we always try to land at one or more of these delicious lakeside restaurants that welcome boaters throughout the summer and fall seasons. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
The Beacon Bar and Grille, South Shore
Historic and hip all at the same time, “Camp Rich” is for anyone who loves to dine casually on the lake and listen to great live music, too. Well known for their local hospitality and hearty meals at a good value, the Camp’s lakeside restaurant, The Beacon Bar and Grille, is a fun spot in the summer, and every other season as well. For Marina services, and their famous Rum Runner Cruise, click here.
Another lovely location, the West Shore Café has become one of the finest restaurants on the Lake. And with good reason. Complete with pier and boat valet, it’s a “must do boat stop” every summer. Be it lunch or dinner, the views of the Lake will be as deliciously inviting as the meals which are prepared by some of the finest chef’s in the west. They take reservations for dinner; lunch is open on a first come basis. Both are great reasons to keep this on your “dine-by-boat” list for friends and family to enjoy. Iconic to its location and name, this long established hot spot is the place to be seen and place to be spoiled. Tie-up to their boat dock (first come basis) and hook up a Fish Taco, famous Fried Zucchini, or forever memorable Hula Pie. The menu offers burgers to the best gourmet lunch and dinners on the lake. Indoors or out, it’s a must do every summer. Click here to book your reservation now.
Christy Hill Lakeside Bistro, Tahoe City
For a big occasion, or for no particular reason at all, we always keep Christy Hill on our list as one of our favorite spots to dine lakeside at Lake Tahoe. The restaurant sits just 100 feet above the shoreline and offers some of the most spectacular views of Lake Tahoe to be found while you enjoy a lovely repast. According to their website, “Christy Hill offers Modern American cuisine with refined Mediterranean influences”. According to our team at Elder Group Tahoe Real Estate, we think it’s one of the best options for fine dining, hands-down. Be sure to make a reservation so click here to do so.
GarWoods Grill & Pier, Carnelian Bay
A classic and a favorite of locals and visitors alike, this oh-so-cool upscale restaurant, has a large buoy field and boat valet that offers a ‘first-come’ “boat to pier” service. The food is just as colorful and fun as the atmosphere. Don’t forget to sip one of their infamous “Wet Woodies” yet only have one… trust us! Make a reservation by clicking here.
Lone Eagle Grill, Hyatt Regency, Incline Village
Known for its unmatched views of the High Sierra and pristine private beach, the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe offers some lovely options for dining year-round. Come summer time in particular, boaters head to the northern Nevada edge of Lake Tahoe to experience the views, and delicacies served at the Lone Eagle Grill – the Hyatt’s signature restaurant on the edge of the Lake. Offering “inspirited High Sierra cuisine, the menu changes with the season and is enjoyed by locals and visitors alike. You will want to make a reservation so check out their website right here.
Have fun, be safe, and we’ll see you on the lake!
