Millions of Dollars Raised, Granted, to Truckee-Tahoe Organizations
Every month we like to bring you interesting and enlightening information about the Truckee-Tahoe region, and this article is no exception. We are proud to share the news about the millions of dollars that Truckee-Tahoe raised and donated last year right here in our hometown. Just this past month the Truckee Tahoe Community Foundation (TTCF) announced that they raised $365,046 through their annual “Give Back Tahoe Giving Season.” In addition, another $27,563 was leveraged in matching grants and $15,000 additional dollars were awarded in Challenge Grants raised by TTCG!
And that’s just the beginning…
At Elder Group Tahoe Real Estate, supporting our Community Foundation through time, talent, and treasure is an integral part of our business acumen. So much so, that we’d like to share some highlights of the programs that occur throughout the year.
We applaud all who financially supported the Community Foundation this year.

Give-Back Tahoe
With a recent announcement about this year’s Give Back Tahoe (GBT) results, the foundation shared a few highlights of this year’s success:
“For the fifth year, Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation (TTCF) facilitated the Give Back Tahoe (GBT) Giving Season to elevate the missions of our local nonprofits and inspire collective giving. Thanks to the generosity of you and other donors in our community, we leveraged $365,064 for over 60 local nonprofits!”
“Give Back Tahoe is only possible thanks to the generosity of our Challenge Grant Donors and Business Sponsors. Thank you to our community members who drove the giving even further: Tahoe Donner Giving Fund, Auerbach Engineering Corp., The Bolam Gallery, Eagle Peak Management, Elder Group Tahoe Real Estate, Emerald Bay Wealth Management LLC, Sears Hometown Stores.
“In the past five years, Give Back Tahoe has raised over $1.7 million for our region. More than raising funds, Give Back Tahoe strengthens nonprofits by exposing their missions to a broader audience and helping them develop their year-end fundraising techniques.”

44 Non-Profits Awarded $333,855
This past year, the TTCF-facilitated grants raised $333,855 which was awarded to 28 non-profits for unrestricted funding needs. These funds can be used by the organizations to use for technical supplies, maintenance, training, and education or anything they need to promote and strengthen their mission.
Although the funding was received from a variety of sources, the TTCF honored key donors that include Tahoe Donner Giving Fund, and a generous match from Martis Fund that supported the TTCF Nature Grant and the Queen of Hearts Women’s Fund (which Alison Elder is a founding member).
All combined, this means that more people are receiving the food, shelter, and assistance they need, more animals are safer in both their fur-ever homes and in the wild, and we’re protecting open spaces and access to recreation. It also means that more children receive opportunities to succeed whether what they need is mental health services, mentorship, exposure to performing arts, or simply a more equitable playing field. Finally, it strengthens our nonprofits who serve our region for so many great causes.

$1.3 Million Raised; $691,518 Granted Locally To-Date
In February 2006, women who love the North Tahoe – Truckee region came together as “The Queen of Heats” with a dream to raise $ 1 million in a single year by finding 100 women to donate $1,000 each. It’s no surprise to us to that the organization exceeded that goal and continues to raise funds all year long to date, with over 1200 supporters, who have raised more than $1.3 million and granted over $691,518!
