Summer is here in Truckee-Tahoe and such amazing events are happening. Most importantly, it’s only once in a lifetime to experience and be involved with a NEW Cancer Center. I am so proud to acknowledge the many volunteers, Tahoe Forest Hospital employees and AMAZING Cancer Advisory Council volunteers… the new Gene Upshaw Memorial Tahoe Forest Cancer Center was officially opened by our esteemed Terry Upshaw and lovely family on July 17, 2012. Best of Tahoe Chef’s event is one of the most exciting of the season and one of my favorite philanthropies. Hosted by our amazing committee of 12 women, led by Pam Hobday, the event topped the charts again this year and raised ~$175,000 in one evening to support the psycho-social programs for patients involved in their cancer care with Tahoe Forest Health Foundation. A huge thank you to our fantastic Chefs – the best of the best in our region – for their dedication, participation and commitment to serve the most amazing dishes throughout the evening. We simply couldn’t make this event happen without their participation, menu design, food and wine contributions and resolve to make each year even more exciting! What can you do until next year’s event? Be sure to frequent these Chef’s restaurants and let them know you are a supporter of Best of Tahoe Chefs! See you there in 2013!
