SEPTEMBER 4, 2016 / 28TH ANNUAL ALPEN WINE FEST
Squaw Valley / The 28th Annual Alpen Wine Fest includes wine tasting, live music, a silent auction, and raffle. Entry into the event is a donation to Can Do MS, a foundation providing wellness and education for people with Multiple Sclerosis. With the donation, attendees receive a crystal souvenir wine glass and tastings from over 40 vineyards. For more details, click here.
SEPTEMBER 9 / GUITAR STRINGS AND CHICKEN WINGS
Squaw Valley Bands and restaurants will square off against each other in an effort to raise funds and awareness for the Tahoe Institute for Natural Science. Entry is only $5 and wings are priced 4 for $5. Attendees will receive tokens at the entrance allowing them to place votes for their favorite wings and favorite band. Beer and drink specials will also be offered.
SEPTEMBER 10 – 11 / WORLD’S LONGEST, HIGHEST, PADDLEBOARD RACE ON TAP IN TAHOE
Tahoe Vista Paddleboard enthusiasts from all over the world will compete in the longest, and highest, paddleboard race in the World during the first annual Tahoe Vista Paddlefest Fall Classic which is being hosted by Mourelatos Lakeshore Resort in Tahoe Vista, CA. This premier event is part of the Tahoe Cup organization which is known throughout the paddleboard industry as one of the finest organizers of some of the toughest races in America. This fall, they will set a new benchmark for a paddleboard competition that will extend 22 miles, at elevation 6,200 feet, across Lake Tahoe – the largest alpine lake in North America.
In addition to the showcase race that will start on Lake Tahoe’s South Shore and end at Mourelatos Lakeshore Resort on the edge of North Lake Tahoe, there’s a full line-up of activities that include beach-front yoga workshops, fire dancing, music of the Sneaky Creatures, and a celebratory Hawaiian-style Kalua Pig Luau as part of the Awards Ceremony at the resort
SEPTEMBER 9 – 11, 2016 / 31st ANNUAL LAKE TAHOE AUTUMN FOOD & WINE FESTIVAL
Northstar California Ski Resort The Autumn Food and Wine was voted one of the top 10 food festivals in the country by USA Today. It is also recognized as the premier gourmet food, wine, beer, and spirits festival in Northern California – and with good reason! The schedule of events overflows with food and fun and include farm to table dinners prepared by celebrity chefs, hands-on cooking demonstrations and gourmet food, wine, beer and spirits pairings. The festival continues with trailside hikes and tastings, unique seminars, mixology series, and the ultimate finale … the Sunday Culinary Competition and Grand Tasting.
