For those of you with a New Year’s resolution to be more adventurous this year, now is the time to find that winter WOW in the backcountry of Lake Tahoe and Truckee. International Alpine Guides’ certified and trained backcountry ski guides are ready to take you out to ride and ski out of bounds, legally, on the outskirts of the Sierra. Sugar Bowl Backcountry Ski Tour
For those who are familiar with the sport of backcountry skiing and can ski and ride well, this tour is for you! The International Alpine Guides all-day adventure starts at the base of the mountain, taking an early morning lift to the top, then its sheer pleasure all morning long. After a lunch break at the resort, you are off to backcountry bliss.

Backcountry Ski Training Tours for Beginners
For over 40 years, International Alpine Guides has been teaching backcountry ski classes in the magnificent North Lake Tahoe backcountry.
Designed for advanced-level resort skiers and split-board riders who are looking to safely explore the backcountry, there’s a one-day instructional beginner course ready for you.
The courses are hosted throughout the winter in the best backcountry ski terrain at Donner Summit including the Donner Peak and Mount Judah area, Castle Peak, Silver Peak and other spectacular spots throughout the Sierra.

Winter Kayak Tours in Tahoe-Truckee
