Sunshine, sunshine and more sunshine represented our Truckee-Tahoe February! After the January storms brought record 70 year snow, we await the next big storms to grace our mountains with white! In the interim, the skiing has been fabulous and plenty of sun guard a must! Buyer demand is extremely high while the real estate inventory has been at a record low. February has been an unusual month both in key international affairs, volatility in the stock market and crypto currency arenas along with exciting U.S. highlights of the Olympics – and our 12 local Olympians competing for Gold – and the Super Bowl!
February closings were unusually light by Elder Group standards however new transactions are plentiful, so Buyer Clients are purchasing; the brief January market hiatus appears to have passed. Alison and our team represented nearly $5,000,0000 in closed February transactions representing three Clients – a private buyer-seller transaction in Tahoe Donner with a delightful new family finding their dream retreat on Zermatt Road and a lovely family settled into a stunning luxury property in Schaffer’s Mill. They are so excited to enjoy the community’s fabulous amenities and private transportation to Northstar!
What’s coming in the next few months? As I commented in my Fireside Market Recap for 2022 projections, I anticipate a robust market with increased inventory this Spring and Summer along with increased interest rates still considered very low and attractive. While we wait for the anticipated spring storms and March snowfall, we will see light a volume of nice inventory releases throughout the Truckee-Tahoe neighborhoods. Once ski leases wrap up in late April, more product will come to market in May where the confluence of Sellers capturing the market and Buyer’s maximize purchasing power intersect. Based on early Seller Client calls, Elder Group will carry a plethora of beautiful inventory in all price ranges and neighborhoods.
