Dining for Schools

It’s that time of year again! Dining for schools just went on sale. The Dining for Schools card entitles the bearer to 50% off any individual dinner entree at 43 participating restaurants in the Truckee and North Tahoe area. The card is non-transferable but may be used an unlimited number of times at any participating restaurant during the valid period. All proceeds from the purchase of Dining for Schools cards benefit the Tahoe/Truckee Excellence in Education Foundation. Each year the Foundation raises money and provides grants, resources and partnerships to benefit students, teachers and the educational community as a whole.

You can purchase at Mountain Hardware in Truckee,  Save Mart, Safeway locations (Kings Beach and Truckee), The Store in Tahoe City and online, www.ExinEd.org. The Tahoe Truckee Excellence in Education Foundation enhances public education within the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District to strengthen the learning experience for students. Excellence in Education Foundation was founded in 1986 as a business/education partnership. The Foundation’s efforts are targeted to enhance the education of 4,000 students in a school district that encompasses 11 schools in a geographic area of 720 square miles in the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District through a competitive, selective application process. The Foundation is governed by an all-volunteer Board of Directors and Advisory Board of over 40 community members with a broad range of experience, representing all geographic areas of the community.
