What a great spring we have had so far! Temperatures have been above average which is getting us all outside enjoying all that Tahoe has to offer! Friday, June 21st through Sunday, June 30th marks Adventure Sports Week in North Lake Tahoe. Adventure Sports Week Tahoe was created for those who appreciate clean air, clear water, scenic single track and an elevated heart rate!
Challenge yourself during the day in one of the many competitive events including trail running, mountain biking, triathlon, stand up paddle boarding, and swimming. Relax in the evening while exploring North Lake Tahoe’s communities and mountain villages. Catch a live concert by the lake, or bring the whole family out for a movie on the beach. There is something for everyone in the family.

Thunderbird Run, Lake Tahoe’s most scenic paddle!June 15th
WPA sanctioned race. SUP and prone classes, all ages. 8-mile standup paddle loop along Tahoe’s scenic East shore. Grom Races (ages 5-15), buoy course near shore
Lake Tahoe Mountain Bike Race – June 22nd
Race in the 4 or 8 hour race as a solo or on a team of 2, 3, 4 (teams of 3 and 4 apply to the 8hr race only). The course is approximately 12 miles and a mix of single track and fire-road. The most laps wins!
Burton Creek Trail Run – June 23rd
The Burton Creek Trail Run takes place on a beautiful, fun and challenging trail system within Burton Creek State Park in Tahoe City, CA. Choose between either the 6K, 12K, Half Marathon or 50K. The Half is part of the 2013 Trail Runner Trophy Series. The course features miles of single track through pine forests and high sierra meadows. Burton Creek drains the runoff from Mt. Watson into Lake Tahoe. You’ll see and hear the creek often and June is a great wildflower time of year as well.
XTERRA Tahoe City – June 29th
XTERRA Tahoe City is an off-road triathlon that celebrates the natural environment of the North Shores excellent terrain, trails and blue water.
XTERRA Tahoe City Sprint – June 29th
XTERRA Tahoe City Sprint is the shorter course of XTERRA Tahoe City.
XTERRA Tahoe City Duathlon – June 29th
XTERRA Tahoe City Duathlon is a Run-Bike-Run event on the same great course as the XTERRA main races.
Run To Squaw, June 30th
This 7.9 mile course travels alongside the Truckee River. Enjoy spectacular views along this stunning scenic corridor. This run is perfect for all abilities. The route is fast with little elevation gain.
The course starts at Commons Beach with a stellar view of Lake Tahoe. It then heads on to the Truckee River Trail finishing at in the heart of the Village At Squaw Valley. There are aid stations and course marshals along the way to cheer you on and make sure you are hydrated.
Tahoe Waterman Challenge – June 30th
The Tahoe Waterman Challenge is a swim, run, and stand up paddle event broken into several short heats. Compete to see if you have what it takes to advance to the final round and be named champion. The course and event are designed so that those new to the sport as well as seasoned competitors can have a fun and challenging experience.
Also make sure to enjoy the Summer Concert Series at Commons Beach on Sunday June 23rd and June 30th from 4:00 p.m. to 7 p.m.. Local acts and regional touring artists play for FREE at Tahoe City’s Commons Beach. These fun, community gatherings are great for all ages and a perfect way to end a weekend or start a week with friends and family. All ages are welcome, and picnics are encouraged. Opening Day Band is Sunday June 23rd 3:00 p.m. with the Trey Stone Band and Sunday June 30th 3:00 p.m. with Joy & Madness (formerly The Nibblers)
