These ten days in June have events for everyone. Come challenge yourself during the day in one of the many competitive events, and relax during the afternoon with the Summer Concerts at Commons Beach or the Tahoe City Wine Walk. Waterman’s Challenge – June 21st
The Big Blue Waterman Challenge is a swim, run, and stand up paddle event broken into several short heats. Compete to see if you have what it takes to advance to the final round and be named champion. The course and event are designed so that those new to the sport as well as seasoned competitors can have a fun and challenging experience.
Lake Tahoe Mountain Bike Race – June 21st
Come join us for a great day of mountain biking on a scenic and fun course. Race in the 4 or 8 hour race as a solo or on a team of 2, 3 or 4 (teams of 3 and 4 apply to the 8hr race only). The course is approximately 12.6 miles. Fast lap times are around 53 minutes.
The course is a mix of single track and fire-road. It is a fast and smooth course with few technical sections. The most laps wins. Approximately 700 feet ascending and descending per lap.
Burton Creek Trail Run – June 22nd
The Burton Creek Trail Run takes place on a beautiful, fun and challenging trail system within Burton Creek State Park near Tahoe City, CA. The course features miles of single track through pine forests and high sierra meadows.
Burton Creek drains the runoff from Mt. Watson into Lake Tahoe. You’ll see and hear the creek often and June is a great wildflower time of year as well. Choose between from the 6K, 12K, Half Marathon or 50K
Run to Squaw – June 29th
This 7.9 mile course travels alongside the Truckee River. Enjoy spectacular views along this stunning scenic corridor. This run is perfect for all abilities. The route is fast with little elevation gain.
The course starts at Commons Beach with a stellar view of Lake Tahoe. It then heads on to the Truckee River Trail finishing at in the heart of the Village At Squaw Valley. There are aid stations and course marshals along the way to cheer you on and make sure you are hydrated.
Event check-in and parking is located at Squaw Valley. A shuttle takes you to the start at Commons Beach in Tahoe City. You then run back to Squaw Valley.
