The holiday season is here and full of magical events for the whole family. Mother Nature has blessed us with over two feet of snow this month! All the resorts are open and skiing is getting underway, slowly but surely!
Squaw Valley
During Dec 21 to 24th, Santa will be in the village from 12 to 4 p.m. each day and on the slopes from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. each day! The Great Basin Carolers will be strolling in the Village each night from 4 to 7 p.m.
On New Year’s Eve there will be the famous Torch Light parade starting at 6:30 p.m. Fireworks are slated for 7 p.m. followed by a New Year’s Eve party at the Olympic House starting at 9:30 p.m. with live music from NVO in Plaza Bar and DJ Mancub from Space Cowboys in Bar One – join in and get ready for January 1st!
Northstar
Santa will be in the Village excited to see your kids, with appearances in specified locations from 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. to take precious “forever” photos! Don’t forget to bring your Peaks card, Epic Day card, or Pass media for photos!

FREE Village Sleigh Rides
Kids of all ages can enjoy a Sleigh Ride through the Village! Sleigh rides will start and finish by Mikuni.
December 21, 22, 23 ONLY from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m.
Ice Skating
Bring your hat and gloves and enjoy ice skating on Northstar’s 9,000 square foot skating rink in the Village! Open 12:00 – 9:00 p.m. daily, weather permitting. Skate Rentals are $10, skate FREE if you bring your own skates.
Christmas Eve Service
An Interdenominational Candlelight Service will be held in the Village Conference Rooms at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 24, 2013.
Worship Service
Sunday, December 22, 2013 an Interdenominational Worship Service will be held on the top of the Vista Chair at 2:00 p.m.
Live Music on the Village Stage
December 21 to 25, 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. – and SMORES at 3:00 p.m. near the firepits
Star Gazing Snowshoe Tours
Take in the beautiful Tahoe winter nights in a peaceful and serene mountain setting – all while getting some great exercise! All tours will begin at 5:00 p.m. and will depart from the Cross Country Ski, Telemark & Snowshoe Center. During the 2 to 2.5 hour tour, your guides will lead you through some of our snowshoe trails. There will be 2 to 3 different routes ranging in difficulty and distance so you can chose the group you’re most comfortable with. After conquering the terrain you’ll returning to the Cross Country Ski, Telemark & Snowshoe Center for some live acoustic music, smores and hot chocolate around one of our fire pits. After you’ve had time to relax the group will trek down the last 1/2 mile to the Village at Northstar where the tour will end. Dogs on leashes are welcome to join in the fun!
December 26: Mouth of the Whale
Within Cetus Whale a dwarf planet Eris travels across the sky. What are dwarf planets, where did they come from, and where are they found?
December 30: Watery Stars of the Sea Monster
What wonders lurk in the waters of the starry sky? Exoplanets and planets floating in the cosmos!
