Time to light up the night! A few days from now, we will remember the good times on and off the slopes during 2023. And what a better place to be to look forward to doing the same in 2024.

Throughout Truckee-Tahoe there are so many ways to ring in the new year with fantastic fireworks, super fun family events, torchlight parades and dancing into the night!

New Year’s Eve Events in Truckee-Tahoe!

Come one, come all and bring the whole family. It’s time to celebrate throughout our charming mountain towns and ski resorts in Truckee-Tahoe. Take a look at the highlights of the fireworks and drone shows that will fill the skies with every reason to end the year on a high note. For the galas and concerts indoors, reservations are required so make them today.

Tahoe Donner

Have you ever seen a Glow Stick Parade? This is your year at Tahoe Donner. Join the fun as they host their annual Parade and amazing Fireworks Show, too! The whole family will enjoy the festivities in a classic setting with firepits, toddies for the body and hot cocoa for the kids!

Palisades Tahoe

Their celebration kicks off at 5:00 pm with a Torchlight Parade down some of our favorites runs. Stick around, as they will fill the skies with one of the biggest and best Fireworks Show of the night! If you have never seen a show over the snow, this is the year to do so! All around the Village there will be more fun to be had to sip, dine and share special times with family and friends.

Northstar California

For a full day of festivities, Northstar California has families in mind. Throughout the afternoon there’s a DJ on the stage to entertain the skaters and spectators while enjoying a hot toddy and s’mores by the fire. From 6:00 – 9:00, there will be Face Painting, a 360 Video Booth and other fun activities for all to enjoy. Then, it’s time to dance into 2024 with their NYE Band on stage from 7 – 10 pm and a super cool Drone Show over the slopes at 9:00 pm.

Granlibakken

Are you looking for something a little fancier with dining and dancing? This is your place. Over on the West Shore, our friends at Granlibakken will host their annual NYE events. Within their beautiful Mountain Ballroom, you will experience a classic NYE with a buffet dinner followed by music with DJ Dylan Thomas. This annual event is open to revelers of all ages, so make your reservations to kick off 2024 in Tahoe-style!

For the kids (and moms and dads too) their official Sledding Party Under the Stars is from 6 – 9 pm. The $35 ticket includes sled rentals, sled hill access, bonfire to keep you cozy and beverages for purchase as well. Reservations are required, so make them today!

Alibi Ale Works

Ring in the New Year and kiss the bliss with Broken Compass Bluegrass. Get on up to Alibi Ale Works in Truckee and enjoy the music that has “jaw-dropping sizzle that will infect your soul.” High elevations, high vibrations and high times are guaranteed. Making this New Year’s Eve experience even more unique, set two will be a grassy tribute to the Grateful Dead! Tickets are $15 advance and $20 at the Door.

A Neon NYE at Moe’s BBQ

Get ready to light up your New Year’s Eve in style at the most electrifying Neon-themed celebration in Tahoe City! The Hot Buttered Rum band is playing for two nights (December 30 and 31) and tickets are required to enjoy either or both shows. Their BBQ is the best on the Lake, so go early for a whole night of festivities overlooking the Lake.
