So much to celebrate! With the sun setting well after 9:00 pm, there are hours of family fun in the sun and after sundown for good old-fashioned 4th of July festivities. From hometown parades, pancake breakfasts, fun runs and innovative Drone shows, there is a full line-up of things to do in Truckee-Tahoe in July.
It’s a month that overflows with any summer adventure you would want to experience. The golf greens are now pristine, the rivers are running and the hiking trails are flush with wildflowers. Fourth of July Events in Truckee-Tahoe
Right here in our hometown there could not be a more appropriate theme for this year’s 4th of July Parade and Celebration. “There’s No Place Like Home” parade starts at 10:00 am at the west end of Truckee. Get your seats and beach chairs set anywhere along Donner Pass Road to historic downtown and cheer on the parade participants along this 1 ½ mile route. We will watch from the Elder Group Tahoe Real Estate office porch at 10770 Donner Pass Road. Come by and say “hi!”
It’s a classic collection of fun, games and fabulous Drone Show in the Sky in Tahoe City this year, all of which will be hosted on Commons Beach. The festivities start at noon with DJs dancing, crafts for kids, food and more fanfare planned for locals and visitors alike. Be sure to download 101.5 FM, our local independent radio station, to listen to the all-American tunes streaming live to the Drone Show starting at dusk (around 9:30 pm).
Run To the Beach Trail Run
North Tahoe Regional Park, Lake Tahoe, CA
The courses offer scenic trails starting at the North Tahoe Regional Park. The 5K is a quick course and the 10K has its signature climb. Come out with your friends and family and start your July 4th with a run, walk, or stroll to the Beach. Don’t miss jumping in Lake Tahoe to cool down! Register here.
Unlike so many years in the past, Kings Beach is not hosting any Independence Holiday events this year. HOWEVER, mark your calendar for September 1, 2023 (Labor Day Weekend) when they will present Music on the Beach ~ Lights in the Sky.
INCLINE VILLAGE
Three days of events are on tap in Incline Village this year during their annual “Local Heroes 4th of July Celebration. The schedule starts on Sunday, July 1, 2023, with a formal Flag Raising and Pancake Breakfast, followed by a Kid’s Bike Parade and Local Heroes Parade to follow.
