Top Breweries in Truckee, California
The following Truckee establishments welcome you to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with them this year … and enjoy the fruits of their labor all year round. St. Patrick’s Day in Truckee-Tahoe has it celebrations with brew pubs across the area.
Alibi Ale Works
10069 Bridge Street
This family-friendly Public House offers 18+ frequently rotating Alibi beers on draft, cider, wine, nitro coffee, kombucha and other non-alcoholic options. Whether you choose to imbibe on-site, or take some brews to go, the owners accommodate your preference with cans, bottles, crowlers and growlers, too.
Complementing their talent with hops is their ‘tiny but mighty’ kitchen which focuses on upscale pub fair using local, seasonal and sustainably produced products. It’s also one of the best spots to take in some local entertainment with its jam-packed schedule of events.
Truckee Brewing Company
10736 Pioneer Trail
Conveniently located and locally loved, Truckee Brewing Company is one of our top picks to wind down in the spring and year round. One of our favorites is their Palisades Pilsner – a beer made in dedication to the late Squaw Valley. The owners promote this as “light, crisp and crushable. Just like a deep powder day on KT (with less waiting)!”
Aside from its craft beer and delicious menu items, it’s also a great spot to just hang out. Their website tells it best:
“From our high vaulted ceilings to our open concept floor plan showcasing our state-of-the-art equipment, we invite you to come get comfortable and experience Truckee Brewing Company.”
Donner Creek Brewing
11448 Deerfield Drive
Describing their establishment as a ‘Pico’ (smaller than nano) brewery, their brews deliver big bold results that complement their oh-so-tasty Paninis. They also offer a stellar selection of wines on-site or (in cans) on the go. Due to its location just off I-80, it’s not uncommon to tip a few with those who have traveled the world to explore the community that we proudly call home.
And check this out: Using yeast from the famed Jovaru Brewery in Lithuania, their Brew Master adds in the leftover heels of the Truckee Sourdough Bread from the sandwiches as the primary fermentable.
The Good Wolf Brewing Company
10990 Industrial Way, Suite B103
Here’s one you really need to visit, and here’s why. The Good Wolf Brewing Company curators refer to themselves as “A Little Wolf Among the Weeds.” Their brewing company was founded in 2019 and typifies their location in the Sierra where they hand craft hop forward and forest beers.
Try their Range of Light, described as such: “California blue juniper berries layered on an intense Citra dry hop. Juicy citrus and berry with delicate aroma and flavor note of pine and forest … a soft pillowy base beer married to a fresh spring hike through the forest …”
Fifty Fifty Brewing
101434 River Park Drive
Awarded “Brewery Group of the Year” at the 2018 Great American Beer Festival, the Brew Masters and team at FiftyFifty continue to achieve some of the highest accolades from their peers and the pros.
FiftyFifty Brewing Co. was awarded three Gold medals and a Silver in four separate categories of the Best of Craft Beer Awards (BCBA). This medal tally tied FiftyFifty for the most golds awarded among the 482 craft breweries that took part. The competition, , based out of beer-centric Oregon, is the third largest professional brewing competition in North America.
