We love the long Sierra sunny days and cool nights taking in some of the best musicians in the west as they entertain locals and visitors all season long. From Tahoe Donner to the Village at Palisades Tahoe and across the North Shore, there’s music in the mountains for all to enjoy.
Most of the events offer food and beverage on-site or bring a picnic basket packed with a delicious summer dinner; check out these easy-to-prepare and pack picnic recipes!

Every Wednesday from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm, Truckee Donner Recreation presents Music in the Park. Now through August 31 at the Truckee “Salty” Gebhardt Amphitheater, you can sit back and enjoy blues, bluegrass, country, American classics and the top tunes of The Beatles.

NorthStar’s Summer Music Series
On the second Saturday in August, Northstar will host their popular “low-key” beer tasting event which includes a variety of beverages and music, too! Head to The Village Stage, pull up some chairs under the clear blue Sierra sky and savor some local brews from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm.

Palisades Tahoe – Bluesdays FREE Concert Series
The Village welcomes the return of Bluesdays, Tahoe’s must-see summer music series. This free outdoor concert series features top blues musicians every Tuesday through August 30.

Sunsets Live Music Series
Keep your schedule overflowing every Friday with free music and summertime fun at Palisades Tahoe. Hike in the morning, take a tram ride or hang out by the pool. Then, head to the Village for their Sunsets Live Music Series from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm. You can see the complete schedule here.

In the cool forested setting of the University of Nevada, Reno – at Lake Tahoe (formerly Sierra Nevada University) some of the finest musicians perform during this annual summer-long concert series.
Every year, Classical Tahoe brings together America’s leading classical musicians from the MET Orchestra, Los Angeles Phil, Cleveland Orchestra, and symphonies of San Francisco, Dallas, Houston, Seattle, Toronto, Vancouver, New York City Ballet, San Francisco Opera and more.
In addition, Classical Tahoe also offers educational programs and workshops within its majestic Lake Tahoe setting.

Music On The Beach
This locals’ favorite continues to grow with great music and super scenery throughout the summer months. The concerts are held at the Kings Beach Recreation Area (on the beach!) and the tunes start at 6:30 pm. No need to pack a picnic as food and beverage is available onsite from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Fun and FREE family entertainment! Local, regional and national performers head to the beach to entertain their audience every Sunday afternoon this summer. This FREE concert series is underway now through September 4. The music begins at 4:00 pm and lasts until 7:00 pm.
