Throughout the summer, and now into the fall, we are seeing a tremendous outpouring of interest from Generation X to get out of the city and get a life – where outdoor adventure and healthy home lifestyles are second nature to working and living in the High Sierra.

New trends refer to this surge to find a new home base and live an active life as “voting with their feet,” and with election season underway, we thought this would be a good fit for this posting!

No matter the season, the reason we are experiencing such a growth in interest from Gen-Xers to move to Truckee/Tahoe is consistently praised by some of the top sports and lifestyle mediums in the country.

SUNSET magazine tapped Truckee as the “Best Adventure Town.”  MEN’S JOURNAL and JETSETTER hand-picked Truckee as one of the “Best Mountain Towns.”  Topping it all was NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC’s selection within its top 25 list as one of the “World’s Best Ski Towns.”

Closer to home, NBC Bay Area calls Truckee the “Coolest Ski Town in North America.”
