Over the years at our real estate firm in Truckee, CA, we have shared a variety of news stories about environmental projects that seem to be in the headlines all the time in the Truckee and Lake Tahoe region. And for many good reasons. There’s no doubt that the vision for our region to retain its natural beauty lives with the lives of our leaders and residents as well.
As we’re days away from Earth Day celebrations around the world, we decided to dedicate this blog to the heroes of our community who have established programs to help fund a variety of eco-friendly funds and projects right here in our home town.
Please join us in saluting the following companies. And be sure to come join us at Earth Day at Squaw Valley on April 21!

Over 20 million Americans took to the streets, parks and auditoriums to demonstrate on behalf of a healthy, sustainable environment. The first Earth Day led to the creation of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the passage of the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act and the Endangered Species Act. In 1990, Earth Day went global, with 200 million people from 141 nations participating. Earth Day is now widely celebrated around the world and right here in the Tahoe/Truckee region. We hope to see you there!
