Wise began ski racing at age 8. By 11, he was ranked among the top five in the state in both slalom and giant slalom as a member of the Alpine Meadows race team. David became the first Olympic gold medalist in men’s halfpipe skiing in Sochi in 2014. In an effort to defend that gold medal, Wise will be competing at the Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang 2018.
